The 1900 D.C. census possibly has the same family: Mary Buie, b. 1852, Md. William Brown (son), b. 8-1872, D.C., Lawrence Buie (son), b. 3-1882, D.C., Harry Buie (son), b. 3-1885, Marjorie Buie (dau.), b. 10-1890 Note: David J. Buie is probably the same as Balblc6.
A David James Buie is listed as a son of Hugh Buie of Bladen Co., NC. He served in the same company as two other sons of Hugh Buie. Confederate records have David J. and Francis M. both absent without leave upon the same dates, and later list Francis M. as drowning trying to escape to the emeny. David J. was captured and sent to Washington DC where he later took the oath of loyalty to the United States. The Application for Pension for the Mexican War made by Deliah Buie (Hugh Buie's widow) names five children of Hugh Buie. David James is not one, however a James, aged 12 is listed. It has not yet been proven that David James and James Buie are one in the same. At present David J. Buie is listed both here and with Family Group B. Family Group B-See information on Hugh Buie
