1.  HUGH1 BROWN was born Abt. 1716 in Melford, Argyllshire, Scotland, and died October 1794 in Robeson Co., NC.  He married MARY BUIE Abt. 1747 in Bladen Co., NC (probably).  She was born Abt. 1730 in Jura, Scotland, and died Abt. 1825 in Robeson Co., NC.
Burial: Brown Cemetery, Robeson Co., NC

2.  NEILL2 BROWN (HUGH1) was born February 15, 1747/48 in Bladen Co., NC (now Cumberland Co., NC), and died December 11, 1835 in Robeson Co., NC.  He married ANN SMITH, daughter of MALCOLM SMITH and SARAH PATTERSON.  She was born July 17, 1752 in Cumberland Co., NC, and died September 07, 1838 in Robeson Co., NC.
NEILL BROWN:  Lived near Richland Swamp and was a tailor and farmer.
Politically he was a Whig and aided the Revolutionary cause and from 1787-1790 represented Robeson County in the North Carolina General Assembly.  Neill helped form the Philadelphus Presbyterian Church.

3.  JOHN2 BROWN (HUGH1) was born December 28, 1751 in Bladen Co., NC (now Cumberland Co., NC), and died January 16, 1794 in Robeson Co., NC.  He married ALA BENNETT.
