Benjamin F. Buie married Mary Spear in Lawrence County in 1850 and was a newspaper journalist in Maury County. Thomas J. Buie, b. 2-29-1828, Tenn., d. 7-18-1860, married Mary D. Craig, 9-5-1847, Lawrence County and had two children, Martha V. b. ca. 1855 and John W. b. ca. 1858, m. Laura Ramsey, 1887, Lawrence Co. Thomas J. Buie must have been a close relative of the William Buie descendents for he is buried with many of them in the Pleasant Garden Cemetery.
