Bordeaux Buie: John Buie is the son of Archibald and Ephamie (Campbell) Buie and mentioned that John's two children were named James and Katherine. The compilers believe that the John Buie who lived in Brunswick Co., NC was indeed the John Buie born in Bladen Co., NC. John Buie first appears in Brunswick Co., NC records in 1835 (Book M, p. 77) which mentions his wife as the former Sarah Hartsfield. He is listed in the 1840 census, New Hanover C., NC and the 1850 Brunswick Co., NC census. The 1840 census shows a son, age 10-15 and a daughter, age 5-10 and the compilers believe that these children are James and Katherine.
James E. Buie married Alice Davis in Brunswick Co., NC (marriage bond dated 15 October 1860). It is believed that James E. died about 1870 because Alice signed all deed records in Brunswick Co., NC after 1872.
Dr. TS Buie determined that the ancestor of the following line was James E. Buie who died at a relatively young age. Although Dr. TS Buie believed that James E. Buie's father was named Daniel Buie and Daniel Buie as brother to Archibald Buie, Jr., best available facts indicate the father was John Buie of Brunswick Co., NC. The compilers are inserting the James E. Buie line here and invite further research and review. Also note TS Buie does not list John Buie as a son of Archibald and Ephamie Campbell Buie.

The 1900 census shows several grandchildren living at White's Creek listed as children, namely June Buie, b. March 1880, NC; Ann Buie, b. Jan. 1882, NC; James C. Buie, b. 5-1893, NC and Minnie E. Buie, b. April 1895, NC.
On pension record Mexican War it lists DOB as 1822, 5'10", light complexion, sandy hair and blue eyes. In 1894: supported 8 total, 7 children with 5 of his own, 2 grandchildren (all girls or women). 1902: SD Owen bought W W Buie's land.
Military Record: Enlisted January 26, 1847, Mustered on February 5, 1847 at Wilmington, NC in Co. I NC Vol. for the Mexican War. He served with his brother Owens Buie and father Hugh Buie.
Company H 3rd NC, CSA. He was wounded and captured at Gettysburg and held prisoner at Elmira NY in 1865. He was released June 30, 1865 and returned to NC. William W. died at Whites Creek, Bladen Co., NC, in 1903, (last payment of Mexican War Pension).
He is buried a Perry Family Cemetery North of White Plains Church, Bladen Co., NC.

All signatures on Affidavits for Mexican War Pension Benefits--Owen Buie. Owen provided extensive information, with affidavits from witnesses, doctors, lawyer, etc. over the years covering 1887 until his death in 1905, when his last benefit was paid.
