Silas Phelps Buie and Fannie Bernice Smithson of Columbia County, Florida
The 1880 Columbia County, Florida census records indicate that Silas Phelps Buie was born in Florida. However, a thorough search of 1850 Florida census records based on the printed published indexes failed to locate him. Also living in Columbia in 1880 was the following faimly: George Buie, b. 8-1871, Maude Buie (wife), b. 7-187 Fannie E. Buie (daughter), b. 2-1889, Murdie Buie (daughter), b. 3-1891, Jessey Buie (son), b. 2-1895, and Lula Huston (sister-in-law), b. 6-1872. All were born in Georgi George may be the son of John Buie who lived in Liberty County, Georgia, however wheth this family is related to Silas Phelps Buie is not known. James Buie and Sara (Kea) Buie of Darlington County, South Carolina
According to the 1880 Darlington County, South Carolina census records, James Buie was born about 1842 in North Carolina, however research has not been successful in connnecting him to the other North Carolina Buie families. There is some circumstantial evidence that he was more closely related to the Bladen County families (Family Group B), but this relationship is unconfirmed. Further research to include Darlington County records would be in order for possible determination of the parents of James Buie.It is noted that the Archibald Smith Buie family (Ja6b4) lived in nearby Marion County, South Carolina, however there is no documented proof that they were closely related. William Washington Buie of Hardin County, Tennessee and Jefferson County, Arkansas
Information on the Hardin County, Tennessee Buies is presented in the discussion of Family Group EE. William Washington Buie and his wife Martha Farrow Nichols were researched by Rufus T. Buie of Rison, Arkansas, and Mrs. Barbara Butcher, 1105 Claywood Dr., Little Rock, Arkansas who both independently agreed that he is either the grandson or more likely the son of John Buie, Sr., of Hardin County. Census records indicate William Washington Buie was born in Alabama. Also records infer that his mother's name was Margaret, b. ca. 1795, North Carolina, and he had a sister named Jane, b. ca. 1818, Alabama. He married in Hardin County and moved to Hot Springs County, Arkansas about 1846, and later lived in Big Creek Township, Jefferson County, Arkansas.William Washington Buie Descendants

Archibald Astor Buie of Kentland, Indiana
Relatively little is known about Archibald Astor Buie who lived in Kentland, Indiana. Only one known son, James Buford Buie, is traced here.
