Information provided by a descendant of Sarah A. Buie and Nicholas Mulkey Acuff:
Sarah Ann Buie, b. January 7, 1865 in (Iowa), married N.M. Acuff in 1880. She is buried next to her husband in Hamlin, Jones Co., TX. She died in 1943. Sarah Buie Acuff told her daughter that her family had moved to Iowa to avoid the Civil War and later returned to Arkansas. At present it is unknown which Sarah is the daughter of James Harrison Buie. There is at least three Sarah's in this area during this time period and not one Sarah with three husbands.

She signed the marriage record as NANCY BUIE and is believed by the Baughman Family to be the daughter of JAMES HARRISON BUIE, at present though she will be listed as the daughter of Alfred Moore Buie Family Group V.
