4.  REV. ARCHIBALD2 BUIE (ARCHIBALD1)1 was born Abt. 1774 in Cumberland Co., NC1, and died February 12, 1857 in Dillon, SC1.  He married CATHERINE BROWN1 February 1812 in Robeson Co., NC1.  She was born September 14, 1784 in Bladen Co., NC (now Robeson Co., NC)1.

D. P. McDonald, in his "History of Barbeque Church" stated that Rev. Archibald Buie was the son of Archibald Buie of Gum Swamp. In 1815, Archibald and Catherine Buie sold 200 acres in the Cypress (or Gum) Swamp area, witnessed by William Buie and John Clark.  Rev. Archibald Buie was liscensed by the Orange Presbytery in 1811 and first preached in Georgia.

At different periods of his career, he served at the churches of Fayettevllle, Bethessda, Big Swamp, and Mark's Creek in Central North Carolina. He moved to South Carolina in 1839 and preached at the Little Pee Dee Church, retiring in 1842. Rev. James D. MacKenzie wrote of him, "Archibald Buie was an earnest seeker after souls.... Out he went and before long, the House of God on Barbeque Creek was indeed filled to overflowing."

5.  ARCHIBALD SMITH3 BUIE (ARCHIBALD2, ARCHIBALD1) was born July 01, 1819 in NC, and died December 09, 1895 in Marion Co., SC.  He married (1) ISABELLA MCNAIR, daughter of JOHN MCNAIR and MARY GRAHAM.  She was born August 05, 1825 in Robeson Co., NC, and died June 18, 1900 in NC.  He married (2) CHRISTIAN CAMPBELL, daughter of DUNCAN CAMPBELL and MARGARET MCEACHERN. 

Lived in Dillon, SC and Rowland, NC

An elder in the Presbyterian Church, William Graham Buie, was in the mercantile and turpentine  business in Spring Hill, NC
