v.WILLIAM BUIE, b. Cumberland Co., NC. After much consideration, the compliers believe that this William is the one who married Margaret McIver and lived in Moore Co., NC (Family Group G). In 1816, William Buie, stated to be residing in Moore Co., NC, sold 100 acres of land on Gum Swamp in Cumberland Co., NC. The 1820 Moore Co., census exhibits only one William Buie corresponding to Family Group G. 2. MARY2 BUIE (ARCHIBALD1) was born Abt. 1763 in Cumberland Co., NC, and died December 29, 1800 in NC. She married ARCHIBALD MCFAYDEN September 10, 1790 in Cumberland Co., NC. He was born 1754 in Islay, Scotland, and died April 04, 1830 in NC.
Burial: Longstreet Cemetery, Moore Co., NC
ARCHIBALD MCFAYDEN: After Mary's death Archibald McFayden married Nancy McNeill and had the following children: James, Isabella, Neill, Elizabeth, Mary Ann, and Dougald. Many of the descendants of Archiblad McFayden live in central North Carolina. "Gum Swamp" Archibald Buie mentions a daughter, effie, in his will and infers that she was the wife of Archibald Clark. Christian's full name may have been "Christian Euphemia". Some records indicate that Archibald and Christian Clark and some of thier children moved from present-day Lee or Moore Counties, NC to Gibson County, Tennessee and died there.
